Hello,

I have ash telecaster with maple fingerboard and ALNICO PRO II pickups. Sound's great but i want a little more power bridge pickup and i dont want lost single-coil sound... Which pickup should be good? (i want to have alnico pro II in neck position)

sorry for my english...
thanx

Re: Bridge Pickup for Tele

I really like the Jerry Donahue Bridge pickup. It is my favorite out of all the bridge pickups I've used. It does not seem to have the same DC output that the AlnicoII pro's do. The JD is at 7.8 and the AII neck is at 8. Its not that much of a difference so they should be OK together. I have a Vintage 54N with the JD. I really love this combination.

i think the jd is a great choice, nice fatter meatier tele tone that still sounds like a single coil

I agree the JD is a great choice, more balls but still vintage voiced.

Another alternative to consider if you need even more power is to go with a tapped Quarter Pounder. You get more fullness and output in the normal full coil mode but in tapped mode you are back to a more vintage Tele tone. This option would require adding either a push/pull switch or mini toggle switch for activating the coil tap.
