I have a used Takamine acoustic-electric. The guitar is in great shape, but I noticed the plastic bridge pins were a little worn. They still work - that is, the hold the strings in place - but I was thinking I might want to replace them - to improve the sound? - or at least to dress it up a bit.
I found three products that looked interesting:
D'Andrea Tone Pins Brass Bridge Pins -- are brass pins good or bad?
Graph Tech Tusq Ivory Acoustic Guitar Bridge Pins -- these are artificial ivory (plastic) but I use other graphtech products on my electrics and I like them
Planet Waves Boxwood Bridge Pin Set -- they say the boxwood last longer than plastic - they also have an ebony set
Anyone have any preferences? Why? Or does it really matter?
