bridge switch question hardtail vintage

Would it be possible for me to switch the bridge on a Strat that has a Fender Vintage tremelo? I would be wanting to put on a Fender Hard Tail bridge.
For better tuning stability and what not....
Rock On and thanks in advance for your help :smoker:

Not with out a lot of heartache.

Instead, I would tighten the spring claw down as much as possible, so that the bridge doesn't float (you might have to add extra springs). For even more stability, jam a piece of wood between the back of the sustain block and the body so that the bar cannot be pulled forward.

MattPete, thank you very much for the advice, I may end up trying to jam in a peice of wood.

Screw the claw in all the way and put all five springs on. That is really all you need to do. You can fit some shims in behind the sustain block if you want to, but it is not nessessary.
