Brighter sounds for the cool rails

Hey guys I adjusted the heights of the cool rails and have the balance where I want it. Now I want to have access to some brighter, janglier tones in the positions 2,3, and 4. Also I think the neck could to stand to be a little clearer. Suggestions?

You can always either cut some of the coils (auto-split them in the in between positions) or use them in parallel. The Cool Rails is pretty bright and jangly to my ears, so other than some wiring tricks and adjusting the height, you already have that sort of sound.

I might go 500k on the neck. The neck middle position is also pretty dark to my ears. Everything else pretty accurate based on the description you gave me a while back.

Yup. x100

This doesn't compute with my experience with CR's. They are the epitome of spank and punch. I have to question if maybe something is wired wrong. Maybe?
Positions 2 and 4 are ran in parallel like a strat except the middle is in series not parallel.

Did you run it 250k or 500k?

Wouldn't this mean you'll have middle in series parallel with either neck or brigde on positions 2 and 4. If I understood this right?

If you're going to run series, I'd suggest to use 500k pots.

Also note that if you have both 250k and 500k pots in your guitar, and use position where both are active, actual value of both drops well lower than 250k (166k if I remember right).
