Brobucker question

Was there only one run of these, or will there be future runs as well? Can they be ordered individually from the Custom Shop? I missed out on the whole thing.

Re: Brobucker question

there is only one run at that price.

if you want one you can have the custom shop wind you one, but it will be at the normal custom shop price which is probably $160-170 plus shipping. worth it if you ask me

Re: Brobucker question

Maybe? If we can compile a sizable list again? They might consider a 2nd run?
You know...The supply and demand thing.:) Count me in. :D

Re: Brobucker question

The custom shop will easily build you another, the problem will be that it will cost more than the brobucker did for a single pickup

If you got together another list of guys who wanted one, I am sure they could do you another deal for a bulk order again

Re: Brobucker question

(repeatedly kicking self in rear for not having brains the first time... Christmas, new shocks for car, etc.)

I'd be in in a heartbeat if there were another run!

Re: Brobucker question

i seriously doubt there would be another run, thats a lot of time for the custom shop

I agree. Its not like you can't get one whenever you want. The price is just a little higher.

Re: Brobucker question

I thought there was going to be another round of BB's in black. I'd be game for that. Buying it at the $160 plus price tag is a little much for me. I could buy a PG/CC set for that price.

That was never even talked about from my recollection. Where did you get that information?

Re: Brobucker question

I never heard anything abotu another run of anything in any colour. Also, just FWIW...$160 is not a bad price at all for a custom made/hand wound pickup. MJ and Seymour do amazing work...and it's well worth what you pay for it.

Re: Brobucker question

Since they needed a bulk order, I'm thinking that the demand may be great enough to warrant someone like Lew or Blackrose putting in a big order. It's obvious that they sell.

Re: Brobucker question

It will take more than a list of potential buyers to make a second order happen.

The Brobucker would never have become a reality if Scott_F didn’t agree to be the point man on the order. That required a lot of time and work on his part. :beerchug:

Additionally, many people (myself included) bought a Brobucker without a guitar to install it in just to take advantage of the Brobucker’s exclusivity. I don’t believe you will get people to purchase a second run for ‘collectability’ sake.

Thirdly, Seymour Duncan’s pricing on the Brobucker was extremely generous. No one should assume that SD will continue to manufacture custom shop pickups for less than custom shop price. :headbang:

I thought Scott or somebody said there may be another run in trem spaced and black after the first run was said and done. And if there was still more takers. If not no biggie, I'm happy with what I got. Demons and Customs work great for me.

It makes no difference to me if a second run of Brobuckers are produced.
Anyone can order a custom shop pickup with the same specs.

I’m just saying, opportunity usually knocks once.

Re: Brobucker question

I'm ordering one in a few weeks when some extra $$$ is available. I don't care that the price will be higher. From what I'm reading and hearing, it's worth it. I see my Les Paul becoming more diverse than it is now.

Re: Brobucker question

here's a comment from the "cranky old man" of the forum:

------------------------
people WHINED, yes, WHINED until they got a one time deal on a hand wound, special order Custom Shop pickup, as specified by a vote on the forum, for a production model price.

the specifics were clearly stated at the time, and unfortunately, anyone who didn't, or couldn't take advantage at the time should probably assume they are S.O.L. at that price.

MJ, Seymour, and Evan were extremely cool and gracious about the whole deal, but really ....

Peace

The Trem spaced ones were done at the same time, in Zebra with cover.

Re: Brobucker question

yes the trem spaced in double black were made right along side of the nrmal spaced ones. i got two of each to take advantage of the special nature of this.

i assumed it was a one time deal and ran with it, getting all i wanted if i could afford it or not.

Actually (I haven't taken the cover off to check), the trem spaced are supposed to be zebra.
