Re: Brobucker selling rules?
No need to get grumpy Luke, I made this topic
because I'm doing my research. I don't want to piss anyone off, which is exactly why I did this topic.
Did you actually install it in a guitar or did you buy it with flipping it in mind.
I installed it, and love it. I
do not want to sell it, but like I said, the IRS is bending me over with their rules. So I'm out $1k. So I need to sell some stuff. This might be on the chopping block. Read any of my topics about my guitar, I'm
in love with this pickup. And when I get money again, you bet your ass this'll be one of the first things I buy again. Most likely for $160 from the Custom Shop - it's that good.
You know you are absolutely right, screwing one another IS the way business works.....hell, gas iprices are proof.
Screwing eachother!? A) That's not business, and B) that's not what I'm doing. Who would it be screwing? I get a fair price, and somebody gets a fantastic pickup for whatever they're willing to pay.
That's screwing someone!?
By the way, you're still paying for the gas. So as far as I'm concerned, if people still pay it, then that's good business for the oil companies. It's up to the public to tell them enough.
In response to your comment to me about losing money....I'm not sure where you went to school man, but selling something for exactly what you paid isn't losing money.
To be technical, I spent $105. If I sell for $105, then I lose the cost of shipping, plus paypal fees. If I sell for $110, I still might not break 100% even, and half of the board has a collective aneurysm. "He sold for $110!? That rat bastard!"
But I
am losing money if I sell for $100 or $105 or whatever, because I can probably sell it for $130 or so. That's $25 I'm short-changing myself, which is 25%, which is a lot of money! And yes, that absolutely matters to me.
Time to change why? Because you own it?
I didn't say it was time to change. I said it will change eventually. Why not now? Because it
will not stay at $100 forever. That's an arbitrary ceiling, and if it needs to stay there I'll abide for sure. But if not, why are we still sticking to it? That's losing money.
The pup was made as a favor to the forumites here. Perhaps you should do some research and refresh your memory about the pup.
Well this thread is my research!

I searched for 'Brobucker' as well as a few other things, but I wasn't a member back then. So the details are all hearsay for me, until I hear definitively not to sell it. But nobody has told me that I'd be breaking the rules yet.
Just a thought Al....you are literally sh!tting where you sleep.
Luke
I don't understand that, but then again I'm not the smartest duck in the pond.
My whole goal is to not piss anyone off. That's why I made this thread. And if the dude who sold it to me wants, I'll even split my 'profit' with him, that would be fair. Because yeah, it kinda sucks that he sold it a few weeks ago and here I am turning it for more money. So I'll talk to him and see what he thinks.
Favor? It's called product marketing. You do know they now sell them to everyone, right? They didn't give any away did they? Everyone paid way more than a regular Duncan costs? First run went out at a discount off the custom shop list price, yes. But how that equates a prohibited resell is just nuts. You guys are nuts.
