Haha!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

No big deal. Either you ask a car guy to get the old treads out or you pull the anchors out of the guitar's top.

I'm sorry bro but I don't quite follow your response...

Re: broken tailpiece! D'OH!

Its easy to do. You can get it done at a guitar shop. They will take the whole thing out of the guitar and put a new one in probably.

Re: broken tailpiece! D'OH!

You think a set of plyers to yank each bushing out would do it? I really don't wanna bother to pay a tech to fix such a cheap guitar. I also have an Epi Junior that I might wanna use for parts (wraparound tailpiece, P-90)

Re: broken tailpiece! D'OH!

go get yourself an easy out (sometimes called EZ-OUT or a Screw Extractor) and use that to unscrew the broken studs from the inserts. the guy at the hardware store or auto parts store should be able to help you find them and show you how to use them....or you an google it, it's real simple.

Re: broken tailpiece! D'OH!

Sears has sets of extractors, but you don't need a whole set. This linky at least shows the process of a two step screw extractor:

A center punch is recommended, before the process is started on your broken studs, to keep the initial drill bit of two step process from "walking".

Just use a sheet metal screw. They are just pot metal so they'll tap easy. Drill the screw in and unscrew them.
