I move my belt slightly to the side, and I typically play in polo shirts without buttons.

And the extra pounds around my middle do a great job of padding and protecting my guitars, I'm sure!

Untuck your shirt and / or put a wash cloth over your belt (and any jeans studs).

Duct tape! On the back of the guitar, and you can also just wrap a piece of cloth around the buckle.
