Can anyone compare the two? I can get the soldano for about 600 or the Budda for about 900. If the Soldano can nail lynch, evh, and high gain shred tones I'm sold. I need quick answers please.

All I can tell you is the Soldano is a bedroom 80s shredhead's dream come true. haven't tried the Budda.

Re: Budda Superdrive 18 vs Soldano astroverb

you won't be disappointed. My friend has the Atomic, and it's so good I went out and bought a Hot rod 50.

Re: Budda Superdrive 18 vs Soldano astroverb

Is the astroverb handmade with military grade parts like other soldanos?

Re: Budda Superdrive 18 vs Soldano astroverb

Dunno about parts differences, but I know the build quality is the same from the SLO on down. Ring 'em up. Soldano are pretty good with phone questions.

Dude, I played my friend's atomic (astroverb without reverb) again last night. It's awesome.

Re: Budda Superdrive 18 vs Soldano astroverb

Buddas, even the Superdrives, tend to be more vintage, and less 'rock'. They have a more loose feel than the tighter sounding Soldanos.

If that Budda is in perfect shape and working order I`d grab it in a heartbeat! $900 is a fair deal for that amp. I had a Soldano Atomic 16 and it needed a pedal(s) to get that Lynch 80s type tone , still I thought it was a pretty good amp. I played a 2x12 Astroverb in a local shop about 6 months ago and it sounded better than the Atomic. If it was me , Budda w/OD pedal= TONE! Good luck!

Really? -I was using an atomic last week with my PRS CU22 loaded with mid-output SD 59s, and I could get the Lynch thing going with the gain on 6!

-and that's without super jumbo frets, distortion or screamin' demon pickups...

Well I question my ears. I`ve played some amps that people rave about(Splawn Quick Rod,Peavey JSX,5150,Crate Palomino,Traynor YCV 50) and really didn`t care for them. That`s why I`m starting to think my ears are all whacked out :laugh2: The Astoverb I played sounded alot warmer than the Atomic , the gain was smoother but still cut.

In the end, all you have is your ears. It's not like we can trade them like we do amps.

I personally wouldn't touch a JSX, Traynor, or 5150 either. I have heard great things about the Splawn and the Crate, but haven't tried them.

The Budda rocks! I have the 80 though with it's solid state rectifier and it's very tight, yet warm sounding. As GJ stated the 30 would "sag" a bit more, but like mentioned above, slap an OD in front and you're set. Plus you can always pick up a copper cap recitifier from Weber which would tighten up the sound too. So far my fav OD is the Bad Monkey from Digitech at a whopping $39! It really rocks with my Budda, and my Classic 30 for that matter.
