Just use your ears.

If you use any decent kind of a cable run (over 15' total), you're going to want some kind of buffer in there unless you like having a gigantic blanket over your amp. People can speculate all day long as to what buffers are better than others and what conflict with others in what order. Just try plugging directly into your amp. Listen to what you like or don't like about it. Start adding pedals in and switching them around. Hear what differences they make and choose a lineup that sounds right to you. Don't read endless threads on the internet about what's "right or wrong", just use your ears.
