Re: building my first guitar

Got a lot done today, got the body stepped....tomorrow will be control cavity and input jack hole

Re: building my first guitar

Stepping the body really looks good. This is going to be one beautiful guitar.

Re: building my first guitar

The steps do add a very interesting detail to it. I LIKE IT!

Amazing project, and nice workmanship. And, I learned something new from your first pic: Pre-cut the neck pockets so that you don't risk running the saw blade into that beautiful neck.

Thanks for the lesson. :)

Thanks a lot guys, it's been a fun build. I've been taking my time to make sure I measure 50 times and cut once...lol but its back to the garage for the control cavity and input jack hole

Re: building my first guitar

Well guys got the control cavity routed out, and in the pic you can see my boo boo...lol...my jig I made moved a little and the bit made a nice half moon, it's ok I'll either fill that little part or just leave it cause the cover I'm putting on is not going to be recessed, being the body is stepped it will fit in the grove there, and I got the input jack done....

Re: building my first guitar

Solution idea! make it magnetic and use the half moon as a finger grip to pull the plate out.

Like i did here
