So here's the story behind this thing: The godmother of one of my best friends had it built originally to use for a veterans' non-profit organization. Well, he was killed in January, and he was a HUGE advocate for fellow combat vets. So, appropriately, the organization will be in his name. Plus, he thought this was the coolest thing ever. So i was tasked to reengineer it to be more ergonomic and useable overall.

I ended up starting from scratch by moving the neck forward to access the upper frets and to actually have a bridge pickup. You can tell where they tried multiple locations previously. I also used a chopped tele bridge, since it screws down flat and loads from the rear. This was because the posts wouldn't stay secure into the bone for the existing TOM bridge. The pots and jack were on the snout right where your hand needs to be to access the upper frets. So I fished the pots and jack through the spinal hole with some hose so they're in a more appropriate place. I also added a neck pickup and put the switch on top of the schnawz. The neck is screw'd to a slab of white oak, which is secured at the end of the snout by screws and under the bridge pickup by a lag bolt through a piece of wood screwed to the throat hole. That way it can be shimmed to correct the neck angle in case of future movement. The neck joint still needs some refinement, which I'll be working on tonight. I'm also waiting on a Rio Grande Barbecue/Texas set with the skull etched onto toasted nickel covers.

I'm also looking for a pair of .50 or .338 Lapua shells to make knobs. I might just end up using 20ga shells.

I'm also still playing with no use of my middle finger.

If the strap breaks on that
You may loose the use of yet another appendage

Re: Bull skull guitar

That's really cool man! And I like your pickup choices, they're perfect! Looks like you had your work cut out for you. It certainly looks more playable going off the pics and your description of the previous work, so they should be happy with it once you're done.
Does it have a nice acoustic sound since its hollow, or does it sound dead? (Haha) I don't think I ever saw a bone bodied guitar before. Except for the J.Frogs, and Lynch's Mr Scary, but those were just carved wood as its quite apparent by looking at them.

It sounds surprisingly close to a semi-hollow
