I don't mean to highjack your thread but could you tell me what the BumBox sounds like? I was going to order one but the sound clips didn't sound that great, does it sound better in person? A guy reviewing the amp says it sounds just like his 70's Marshall Superlead, the clips don't sound like any Superlead I have played. Thanks.

Well, fellow forumites
Let the feeding frenzy begin
I have over extended myself financially recently and cannot afford the great price on the great BUMBOX
A few facts that I uncovered about this particular unit
I was in touch with Nate a Bumbox and this preamp upgrade is Da bomb.
It actually is an extra tube-based gain stage, and as a result sounds wonderful. It does bump up the gain significantly, but if you want hi-gain or metal-ish tone you should push the amp a bit with a OD pedal.
It does not have a effects loop but the owner of the amp was quoted $20 (no kidding, only $20!) to add a non-tone sucking loop back in April. The Bumbox website list it as a $40 option though.
It does have a line out, so you could run time based effects and attenuate your output further running it into another amp/cab so you may not even need a loop.
Nate from Bumbox said that around that time he switched from Weber OTs to a Custom wound one. This Bumbox DOES have the newer OT!
I wish I could afford this puppy but I can;t
Nate answered all my (many) emails within 24hrs and seems to be a really good person to work with.

Now, if you will excuse me, I want to go in a corner somewhere and cry...
