Re: burstbuckers and 57 classics
The 91 LP Classic I bought recently came with '57 Classics installed. I haven't decided yet whether to keep them or change them. I am playing that guitar a lot and it sounds great and is suitably versatile. The '57s have a punchy rock tone, but also clean up nicely for blues and jazz sounds. However, the Seths in my 96 Standard are definitely sweeter, warmer and more complex.
I'm still weighing up my options - I have a spare set of '59s that I know sound great (used to have those in the Standard), but I'd really like to try a set of A2Ps too. Or Antiquities, PGs or more Seths. :smack:
But the '57 Classics are certainly good pickups for classic rock and blues. It may end up being a case of "if it ain't broke don't fix it".
