Restock is a refurbished item? If yes why are some restock items look cheaper than open box or returned used items?

Restocks are generally refurbished items and may or may not have a warranty.

Often, they come from the manufacturer either as second-quality (maybe a finish blem that didn't pass QC inspection, etc) or as a warranty repair, but they can also be in-house returns that can't quite pass as "new" for "open box" sale, which is why they sell for less.

As long as you have return privileges and it's from a reputable retailer, you're probably safe giving it a go

Some of my guitars are restocked or open box

The RG4 came set up with one broken string

Save a about 25 to 50 percent

There are a few sellers who stock "refurbished" guitars from the factory (Factory seconds) on places like Ebay, and they are often good bargains if you don't mind a finish flaw or scratch. Read the descriptions carefully and run away from anything that says the word "crack" and "neck" in the same sentence. Avoid "returns" to big box stores because they are often returned for a structural reason that guitar players would recognize, but the warehouse personnel do not.

I bought a demo mini cab to match my Vox MV50 amp from Sweetwater. It came looking brand new and working as such.

Many times they do come with a warranty. I would think nothing of getting something like a refurb pedal/mixer/electronic gizmo. It is different than something like a factory 2nd guitar, which can be either a minor finish flaw or something more serious.

Re: Buy restock or open box/returned item?

My Behringer XAir was a "Demo"
It was represented as with warranty and with all the same software as new by Sweetwater
But Behringer saw it much differently

They did comp the recording software and stuff
But they saw it as used with no warranty

It works just fine
But if it hadn't, I would have had no recourse except thru Sweetwater
Who may or may not have helped

It seemed a bit shady
But it worked out well

Off topic, but how do you like the XAir?

Re: Buy restock or open box/returned item?

Its awesome
Miss the knobs obviously
But it is loaded with all the effects you would put in a PA rack
Bass and guitar amps

Presets for vocals, drums, etc

Will send all 18 tracks to a DAW individually and simultaneously
Makes editing later easier

I like it

I dont drag it round and beat it up
It pretty much just sits in a corner here
So I can't tell you how rugged it is

My Catalinbread pedals are "Stock B" as they call here (open box), because Catalinbread are cool but quite expensive new here (270 euros : almost 300 bucks).
