hello guys...I want to buy a distortion pedal however I want to keep my Seymour Duncan Humbucker's Tone Character. Do I have to use Over Drive pedal istead of distortion. I want to add extra crunch of my tone. what do you think about MXR Zakk Wylde OD or Digitech Distortion Factory or Metal Master. Nature sound is important for me.

The metal master will probably scoop mids and the zack wylde will increase mids so they will change tone in some way. The distortion factory has lots of different pedals (all settings based on different pedals) so you could find lots of sounds. An idea might be to try one in a store and find what mode you like and then go out and get the original pedal or similar that should be better then the distortion factory)
Also maybe check out various handmade effects (like www.indyguitarist.com) or fulltone. Maybe stay away from pedals based off the tube screamer and 'metal' pedals because they usually change tone (mainly mids) in some way (the fulltone fulldrive 2 has a more neatrual setting that might be what you'd want). Generally overdrives affect tone less then distortions do although they are just generisations.
