It's true, but some of us haven't been really happy with the tuning. Remeber, some of us hear things diffrently than others. I always used to use a Korg DTR to tune my instruments and set up the intonation on them and was very happy. I then tried out the Petersen Strobe Tuner with the compensated tuning and haven't looked back. Every chord sounds sweeter up and down the neck. I personally haven't tried the Feiten system, but it might be worth it if you play a lot of dense note clusters invloving open strings (calling all jazz cats ).

The Feiten system makes a difference. You really hear when double tracking parts. The sound is much tighter.
Read the fine print. The Korg is a fine tuner but the {eterson uses a compensated tuning to help keep the 3rd and 6th's from sounding so out in chords. Comparing apples to oranges here.ArtieToo said:

The Peterson has a compensated tuning preset, but it works just like any other tuner when in standard mode. I have a decent set of eare, not necessarily great ones, but I could hear a big difference when I switched from a cheap tuner to a Peterson VS-1.

With the Feiten System, the nut is moved a certain amount closer to the 1st fret, the amount being what kind of instrument, Bass, acoustic steel string, electric steel string(theres even a difference in nut placement between gauges with wound and unwound g strings) and nylon stringed guitars. then a compensated intonation is used. it works pretty well. i figured out exactly how he does it, and did it myself. very good results. only problem is, with floyd users...there would normally have to be some wood removed at the nut end of the fretboard. that doesn't seem very reversible to me.

This may be a dumb question, but even though I've read about it, I still don't quite understand the Feiten System. Anyway, if you tune a Feiten equipped guitar with a regular tuner, is it still more in tune than a regular guitar, or is the same or worse?

I'm almost 100% sure they don't make Floyd Rose Shelf nuts. Unless you make one yourself....
my brother has a Garrison acoustic guitar...very nice guitar. buzz feiten system, but it has a normal nut on it, no shelf/overhanging nut. I guess when they're making the guitars they take the wood off at the top of the fretboard.
