buzzing from newly assembled strat

SO i wired up my strat with new antiquities, pots and caps and all that jazz.

But i started to restring it, and test it and such, and all get is a nasty buzzing sound, you can still hear the notes very faintly, and the buzzing is amplified alot if i touch the volume pot (didnt put the knobs on yet).

I assumed it was a bad grounding or osmeting, but I'm looking at it, and everythign seems fine, I followed a diagram from the main page here.

I think it might be something with the central ground? I'm not really sure how that works.

So if anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it.

take off the jack and look at it, or just go through one by one and resolder everything and double check.

yeah, if it's got two places to solder to on the jack and you have them reversed, it will make a big hum sound and almost no (if any) sound. I did that on my strat when I put it together. Some guys on the forum helped me.
