I set all my recording stuff back up, so I decided to throw a one-take down, just for fun. No overdubbing, and quite a lot of mistakes, as well as off notes, but oh well; it's late.

Run through a V-Amp2 and Behringer mixer for eq'ing, directly into the soundcard. I used my Schecter, loaded with a C5 bridge and Jazz neck, but I mainly used the Jazz on this clip.

It's called 'Random.'

Tomorrow I hope to get up some RR-1 clips, I'm thinking Spheres of Madness by Decapitated, and maybe Black Star.

Q:p Awesome effort.

Re: C5/Jazz Clip

Can't say, I've never tried it. I've heard it's a ton warmer though, something I wouldn't want.

WHATTT? :laugh2: :smack: never deny the tonal greatness of the alnico II magnets! :32: :fing25:

Re: C5/Jazz Clip

Deadskinslayer,

Can you post clips on the C5 playing heavy, distorted, palm-muted, "chugga-chugga" sound?

I was going to buy a Custom but some guy is selling me his Custom 5 at a great price. I don't know if it be as heavy.

Thanks!

Re: C5/Jazz Clip

Sorry, I don't even have the C5 installed anymore. I'm sticking with the Custom that replaced it.

Re: C5/Jazz Clip

so the custom 5 won't cut it for metal as far as playing ryhtmn is concerned?

i was "fixed" on getting a custom for the bridge but some guy is giving me a great deal on his custom 5 (paired with an a2p... he won't sell me the a2p alone). you don't think the custom 5 can handle metallica, megadeth and ozzy tunes?

Re: C5/Jazz Clip

It'll cut it, but it was a bit scooped sounding to me. I think the Custom would be better for those types of music.

Remember that the Custom and C5 are identical besides the magnet. Get the C5 and change the magnet for a ceramic.

Re: C5/Jazz Clip

Hey Jeff, great sound from that setup--I liked your playing! I'll have to go
back and listen to some of the songs that weren't recorded late at night!
