Calling all 7 string guitarists.

Re: Calling all 7 string guitarists.

I have an extremely tuned RG 1527 and play only 7 since allmost 2 years.
But I leave 7 strings soon.
I am going with 8 strings.Tuned Low A to high G ,and getting another one as soon as possible with a glass board(fretless)
BTW ,it's 27 frets but 28"

Who's building it for you? You have to post pics when you get it, that thing is gonna be sick.

Re: Calling all 7 string guitarists.

Someday I will have a seven, don't know when but someday. And for some strange reason after putting my tele together, I've thought a 7 string tele could work really well--especially if somehow if it could keep the 3 saddle bridge, maybe extending one of the saddles.

Roter custom guitars!
This baby is going to be sick since it's amde out of 1 piece wenge ,6 carbon stripes and thruss-rod. No neck heels etc.1 pice of wood!
To get more harmonics and a better attack ,the board is flamed maple.Custom made ABM bridge (Man they are from berlin. That made everything easier)

I will post pics ,specs ,clips and a video...I am already too excited heheh!

So, a 22 fret 7 string or a single bucker.

There´s also the Jackson Christian Olde Wolbers sig which fits the latter ideally... all mahogany, blank ebony fretboard, Tune-O-Matic, and string thru ;)

At least for those of you too meek to step up to a seven string baritone, IMO the only way a low B string sounds tight enough ist on a scale of 26.5" or longer :headbang:

s a result, I own this:

I´m not a fan of IbeenHads as many know, but the 1077XL and 2077XL are the only production seven strings that I´ve been able to warm up to ;)

Re: Calling all 7 string guitarists.

i love my sevenstring but i am not going as much into that as i thought i would when i got it. I mean it has a nice tone ,love the stock neck when split o single rather blah in humbucking mode. Put a blaze custom in the bridg. definatly an improvement. in actuality its a more of utility guitar if i were to need to get down there or want an interesting take on a hardtail strat neck alone sound.

I mean its cool if i am doing a heavy riff to be able to take it down but i am getting lees metal and more into Eric Johnson Greg Howe teritorry and i don't see it changing anytime soon.

Re: Calling all 7 string guitarists.

i had a washburn 7 string and i loaded it with a JB and a Jazz. the tone was as good as it was gonna get on it since it was a cheaper guitar. one thing i liked about 7 strings was that when i would practice on it for awhile, i would go back and play the 6 string and it was easier. so its a good warm up device but i recently got rid of mine due to the fact that i just didnt play it hardly ever. it was cool at first but i just didnt have much use for it with my playing style. one thing i read by dimebag darrell that i always loved "if you cant play a 6 string guitar, why the hell do you need a 7 string?".

That could work. The price is right also. I just wish the color choices were something other than black and desert camo. :smack:

I might just have to make my own and do it right.
