Calling all Ibanez fanboys...

Nice flame pattern.

But if i'm spending over $1k, I would want the inlays to be something "more" than just dots. Just my opinion

Ha, I was looking at this one the other day! The AR2000 is probably one of the nicest iterations of the double-cut, solid Artist Ibanez has done, and there have been many versions since the mid 70s. Produced 1998-2002, and available worldwide, not just in Japan. It's a bit more Les Pauly than some - no fancy switching, brass blocks under the harmonica type bridge, half-bone half brass nut, or ceramic pups which many had in the past.

Fingerboard and pu rings could use some oiling but looks good otherwise. Don't see 'em come up for sale that often.

I believe forum bro Ascension had one of these back in the day and has expressed regret in letting it go.

I've had numerous Ibanez Artists through the years (as well as other Ibanez stuff, then and now), even a nice cherryburst w/ those cream V-2's that honked like Tower of Power's horn section. This one is super nice, but the price is too stout.

Sorry to hijack, are there any Ibanez Prestige guitars that have necks thicker than .800” at the nut? I love the Ibanez high end look but I’m accustomed to a more Fender neck.

Unfortunately not that I know of. I have a 655 that is awesome, but the neck is just over .6" and too thin for me.

Out of the current production, AZ and AZS are probably your best bet, they have fuller C shape necks. Current solid and semihollow Artists also have more traditional necks. For older stuff, Roadstars are a good bet.

RGs and Ss tend to have the thin shreddy necks almost exclusively, unless an artist has their own thing (the Petrucci RG had a fatter neck).

The V2s are indeed stout; I assume that was an AR100, which had a dot neck and came in a few finish options.

Yeah, this model has kept its value. I don't think I've seen one for sale under 2k.

Ibanez didn't skimp on the maple with these axes.

Artists are pretty rare these days. One of the Ibanezes I really like (along with the weird Radius and Maxxas).

Bro... you're singing my song. If Ibanez did a Genesis version of a Radius and/or Maxxas, oh dear, I'd have to remortgage my life.. I do think we're due for a Radius reissue - the JS is a cool guitar, but some people don't care for sigs and would like some of the original pu configurations (HSS, HSH) and colours.

The Maxxas is also very cool, I'm quite partial to the magma burst colour that was offered.

In production from 1974 to 1988. Returned to production in 1990 to 1992. Back in production in 1996 up to today. Many variants.

I like the Radius models - comfy, sharp looking. I wouldn't call it weird - Ibanez has some models that deserve that description. Ever seen the "bowlback"?.

Never seen a Maxxas in the flesh. About the only tech from that guitar that survives is the vibrato. But it got Steve Vai interested enough to stay with Ibanez since 1987.

I've played 1 Maxxas and a few Radius guitars- fantastic instruments. I always loved the Artists ads in the old Guitar Player mags. Beautiful stuff.

Yeah, Talmans also have more Fendery necks. The more recent ones do, don't know about the originals.

Back in the day, Frank Falbo had an impressive collection of old Ibanez guitars, and I imagine he still has a bunch. This included several Radii and Maxxases (among other models) - lucky bugger.

Paul Gilbert rocking one of the original 70s Artists with the active electronics.
