Can A pickup help increase pinch harmonics?

Re: Can A pickup help increase pinch harmonics?

Hmmm...this old thread made me anylize my technique.

I hold the pick with my thumb and forefinger and tend to do pinch harmonics on the up stroke and allow the string to brush my forefinger to create the harmonic.

Pinch harmonics do seem to like a fair amount of gain.

I use a Klon KTR or 808 pedal and it seems like the more gain I use the easier the harmonics jump out.

I don’t have any guitars with Uber-High output pickups, but the Dimarzios in my Axis do seem to get great pinch harmonics.

But then, so do the Antiquitys in my PRS CU22...but the Dimarzios do it even more easily.

Gonna have to work on the downstroke method allowing the string to brush the pad of my thumb.

Wonder how Jeff Beck does it? No pick...just a thumb!
