Re: Can a tweed deluxe handle a band practice?
I soundchecked with a victoria tweed deluxe last year, and my impression was it didn't have the spread, headroom or volume to gig. However I play in a very loud 12 piece band with a deaf keyboardist and a full horn section. So, if you play small venues in a band that isn't too volume hungry you may be able to get away with it. Also, micing and getting a monitor mix will be vital. I play a decent amount of festivals, so I don't often have the luxury of a soundcheck, so I went with the Victoria Double Deluxe, which is identical to a tweed deluxe but puts out 30 or 40 watts into 2 12s. That way I know I can hear myself if the monitor mix is screwed and I can't communicate with the soundguy/monitor tech.
