Discharge bro, just for the sake of completeness, after midi guitar 2, i tried migic as well. This sucks even more than Midi Guitar 2. In the meantime, did you ever use rakarack? Have you tried sy300?

Obviously almost every part in guitar have some effect on tone. Whether it's noticeable is different thing: Variables are far too many to get any definitive answer.

Arguing about it is pointless.

Read my statement again, I said "personally", so it's just me, I don't impose in on other people like the guy did. Of course, I never did any research; it's just my opinion based on my personal experience. Whether you agree or not is not relevant.

Maybe you should search the term "personal" and "assumption" before attempting to sound grandiose on the internet, how 'bout that?

There is an entire industry dedicated to making Strats sound more like Les Pauls. While there are reverse solutions, no such industry exists for what you’re asking for. There are two reasons for this.

1. Strats are relatively inexpensive, Les Pauls are not. Les Paul players who are hankering for Strat tones tend to just go and buy a Strat.

2. Using Les Pauls to play Strat style sounds seems weird to many musicians even when the sound is convincing. The reverse is not true...using modded Strats to play Les Paul type sounds has been an accepted practice for decades.

Single coils, switch the pots to strat styles, and run the guitar through a over drive with the drive down and the tone turned up.

Worth a shot.

As Said before, the basic tone is different, however if you wanted to get closer you could get some low output humbuckers and coil split them to make them sound as close as possible to single coils.
