Can I still buy a BROBUCKER OR is it too late??

Re: Can I still buy a BROBUCKER OR is it too late??

Brother it's been too late to buy them at a killer price, however you can still get one for a fair price from the Custom Shop...just call MJ and tell her you want a Brobucker it will cost you about $180 I belive.

It might be $160 but IM not sure...I'll be honest with ya...Duncan Custom Shop prices might seem hiugh but there are very few pickups out there that IMO compare with stock (off the shelf) duncans, once you go to the CS it's like a whole new world...Seymour and MJ do great work. To be honest I feel that CS prices are pretty fair for what you get...all my favorite guitars have CS Duncans in them!

Re: Can I still buy a BROBUCKER OR is it too late??

Remember what James Earl Jones said in Field of Dreams? "They'll hand over their money without cares. For it's money they have and peace they want"....or something like that.

IF THAT'S THE SOUND YOU'RE GOING FOR, you'll forget all about the money once you hit your first chords. Look at this way--you go out and party, you spend money. Fifty...a hundred...more? Get a pizza and some beer...twenty?Thirty?

Those things are gone in one night, maybe two if you've got leftover pizza. You'll have this pickup for a lot longer probably.

--I haven't heard this pickup to know how goood it is---what Stock SeymourDuncan pickup could ya kind of compare the BROBUCKER to???

The brobucker was done as an answer to the guys om the forum that wanted a slightly hotter PAF style pickup.

As for the money vs tone and the "is it worth it" factor I'll tell you...I love my CS Duncans and wouldn't swap them out for anything else ever...that are all amazing pickups!

Wouldn't a Custom custom be closer?

No, the CC is a lot hotter and uses an a2 mag.

And a different guage of wire wound to a different DC resistance ;)

Right now I still think of it as a heavily overwound but really old PAF, like some gibson Employee in the 50´s left the winder running and went for a cup of coffee that took longer than expected to get and he forgot the winder was running (I know that´s totally impossible, just for comparison´s sake).

Mine is still in transit (no fault of SD), but I can´t wait to hear it.
