Like the first ones Floyd made back in the 80's.
Guthrie Govan is using something like an old floyd on his charvel prototype. No locking nut and fine tuners, only ,locking saddles and locking tuners.

Maybe after his signature model is released people will want them again. I'm pretty intrigued by the idea too.
I saw both models of his Charvel when he came here to Cleveland with the Aristocrats a couple months back. One had the Floyd the other had a Gotoh with vintage saddles.
But yea he was the reason why I asked. I never would of thought to use the Prototype Floyd like a vintage trem. Not sure if I would have gone with that setup myself but very interesting indeed.
Why is it any different functionally (Its different in size and mounting) than the other FR model offered on the old Strat Plus Deluxe? Strings lock at the bridge an tuners, but used a roller nut.
