Can you and how do you change base plate?

I have a Sh-1 59 I want to put in a strat but the legs on the base plate are to long, I have a sh-4 JB with short legs, is it possible to swap the base plates over and if so how do I do it and will I need to re pot the pickups?

Both pickups are uncovered.

Depends on how much gain you use, but for not over-the-top levels of gain, as long as the p'up is assembled properly, no further potting is necessary.

you should be fine. 90% of the time its the coils that are microphonic and you arent messing with that potting
