Can You Jump Channels Across Two Amps?

So I was thinking, is it possible to jump the channels on two amplifiers the same as you would if they were on the same amp? I was thinking about buying a Bassman 100T and jump that with the normal channel of my current '65 Deluxe Reverb. Is this possible or are there issues with the two units being built to different specs?

Re: Can You Jump Channels Across Two Amps?

as long as the amps play in phase while you do that, its fine

I think provided it’s preamp to preamp it should be fine - just not power amp to preamp!

At one point yesterday we had all three GA-20 amps going.

But the ‘54, which uses octal tubes, was out of phase with the two that use 12ax7 tubes.

Bruce, from Mission Amps, fixed it immediately by reversing the leads go8ng to the speaker of that amp.

Then all was good.

Sometimes, you run into grounding hum issues, besides typical phase problems.

Re: Can You Jump Channels Across Two Amps?

Yes, this is what I was really concerned. If you really need to fix the ground loop hum you can always try an EB Tech HumX. But ain't that just a convoluted way make a stereo rig? After all it is not like you have four channels into each of both amps, it is still just two amps with each of their channels jumped, or am I wrong? How would that differ from having your guitar into a stereo pedal and then each stereo output into each amp and then jumping channels on each amp?
