Caps

Re: Caps

I have a question about voltage value ,several different voltages listed for these.022 's (200v,400v,etc)does it matter and what would have been in a '59 LP?

Thanks for your time!

Lower voltage versions of the same cap are smaller. I hate trying to stuff big ass 600V caps in the control cavity. Although, Orange Drop 715p's or 716P's aren't unmanageably huge.

Caps

My favourite is Paper in oil and for humbucker I prefer 0.015 uF - gives a sweet rolled all the way back woman tone with pronounced mid range and not muddy sounding at all. If they are really bright or in the case of my HSH strat have to work with single coils, or if coil splits make them sound too bright then I go for .022uF. On humbuckers I never go bigger than that.

I doubt you even get 0.25 volts in a guitar so the voltage rating in the cap really is not going to make much difference.

I would get several values and times and see which you like best. Nobody can tell you which sound you like best [emoji6]
