Dimarzio doesn't make active guitar pickups nowadays, and what you're describing sounds exactly like a Parker. They DO use active piezo systems.
Parker's website refers to the material they use for their fretboards as " Carbon-Glass-Epoxy .020" composite". Here's a couple of pics:
As far as how I like them? They're OK I guess. I prefer a good piece of wood over any man-made material any day of the week as far as tone goes. Can't really be beat for consistancy and reliablility, but all thats a moot point if the instrument sounds like ass to you.
As for parkers...great-playing instruments. But the tone aint for me.
