I really felt terrible about not having the time to advise/instruct any forum member who needs my help.I offered to do instruction on this forum,adding an "ASK CARMINE"link,but the administrators of the forum refused,and basically do not want me to do any instruction on THE SD forum.So,go to CARMINES CORNER. If you are patient, I or Hartley Singer, a member of my band, and a total pro guitarist, or the other 12 professional musicians who are members of CARMINES CORNER, will answer your posts. I and Hartley are finishing off my third solo cd, as I continue to record for major stars.This is not an attempt on my part to "brag" about my accomplishments,I just wanted to help. Another milestone in the life of CD-Karma; our new album "You Speak To Me In My Dreams" is now on the shelves at the Tower Records store in New York City, at Lincoln Center. Carmine, Hartley:

When looking at the popular Jazz standard, STELLA BY STARLIGHT in the key of Bb,
the B SECTION of the song would have these changes:

[G+7, " , C-7, " , Ab7, " , Bbmaj7, " ].

What ONE chord scale would you favor to play over the 2 bars of C-7, & why ???

SEAFOAMER,I will not provide guitar instruction here on the Seymour Duncan Forum.I was told by the admiistrators that an ASK CARMINE add on to this forum was not going to be done period.The chords you named to the bridge of "Stella by Starlight" are the typical reel 'real book' chords,not the one's most musicians play.If you are truly interested join CARMINES CORNER http://groups.yahoo.com/group/carminescorner Sincerly,

That looks a lot like website solicitation to me. Next thing you know he'll be charging for his "advice".

Carmine, what's the problem with talking to folks here? Are we not good enough for you?

Wow, that couldn't be further from the truth! Those chords are the standard chords for the the first 8 bars of the B SECTION. They, like all other music, can be re-arm'ed at will. But playing over those changes as is, would signify a musical decision, NOT an indication of musical prowess.

I did but figured that a second chance to see if he had anything to offer the community was in order. At least he was posting outside of that one thread and making an effort...once.

As a jazz student, I agree with this statement. Although admittedly I haven't reached god-like guitar status like Carmine. :rolleyes: So what do I know?

Plus considering seafoamer's background, I'd hardly call him a "beginner".

Another point I'd like to make about your statement: "if you don't re-harm that chord progression every time through the form, you are a beginner".

That statement in itself is extremely amateurish, & is MUCH akin to: "the more notes the better " syndrome that sometimes plagues beginners.

Also, quite a contradiction to your father's, "make each note a diamond" quote.

Listen,There is one GOD,and it is not me.I offered free instruction.If this harrasment continues.That will be the end of my free instruction.I really dont appreciate your insulting remarks SEAFOMER etc.If you were more musically aware,replete with real life experiences,in studio,on the road with major performers,I would give you remarks credibility.It would not be neccesary for me to post these statments.If you want answers go to CARMINES CORNER.More harrasment.I quit,
