Carvin Cabs? British series speakers?

Ive never done much speaker swapping and think I wanna experiment.. I may use my carvin 4x12 as the test mule. But seems to sound pretty good and well made. What are opinions of their british series speakers?

That's what's in my Carvin 412 right now, and I plan on swapping out for some WGS stuff. I think they sound fine as they are, but, like you, I'm curious to what other speakers can do for me.

The cabs are quality can't speak to the speakers tho

I have a V412T with Eminence built BR12s. They sound good as long as you feed 'em plenty of mids, but try to scoop 'em out and they get an annoying honky tone to them. Granted, I'm not that big of a fan of scooping things out, but I was in a band for awhile with a bunch of guys that were that insistent I did.

Overall, though, I prefer other speakers. Because even when they're getting the mids they like, they're good, but not great. But the cab itself is gtg. It's made out of 3/4" Birch plywood and built like a tank, but heavy as f#$%. That said, I'm selling mine to another player locally because I've scored a couple deals lately on cabs I like better than the Carvin.

Thanks for the info all! yeah, they are solid built and sounds pretty darn good stock. But.. reality hit last night and Im gonna have to sell mine since we ar moving

Oh man, I wish I'd known you were looking to sell that one. That's the same cab I have, and I've been looking for another to match. Oh well, I hardly need it.

My understanding is that the current Carvin speakers are no longer made by Eminence, they supposedly switched suppliers some years ago. Don't know who makes them now.

They started having their speakers made in China a few years ago, that's why I specified that mine are the Eminence built version.
