You found a machine shop that had a #3-48 tap for sale or they tapped it for you in the #3-48 size? Everywhere I go when I mention #3-48 they look at me like I'm a martian and they never heard of that size. But then again I live in Florida so that's expected.

Yeah, I got one from a machine shop that specialisez in air compressors and medical equipment. It appears to be a big business here in town. Check around for places like that, where there are hospitals, there has to be maintenance shops to keep their gear running.

I have a friend with a few carvins and the pickups are ok. If you like them, thats all that counts. The vast majority of players leave the stock pickups in.
