CD sound quality

Is there a difference in the quality of sound between different CD manufacturers? I've set myself up with some great recording equipment--WAY better than I'll ever need, LOL! The only thing is as far as saving my work and using a CD master, is there a "known" best sounding CD.

Thanks all.

Not necessarily between manufacturers, though there are certainly slight differences.... but more important is to burn as slowly as possible (if you want compatibility to CD players and such) ;)

Re: CD sound quality

I think Sony has some super CD format. For the most part though a CD is a CD.

I will add though you might look into something like T-Racks mastering software as it will give you a more polished sounding CD. If this is for commercial release get it mastered by a pro.

Super audio cd's and DVD audio don't play in normal cd players so thats out of the question.

Normal CD = 44.1khz 16 bit
Super audio cd = 2.82Mhz 1 bit
DVD audio = 192khz 24 bit
