Can anyone tell me about the celestion G12K-100 and the G12T-100 speakers? There in the general speaker section of the celestion website and im interested in what they sound like as im planning on buying up a few old marshall cabs reinforcing the insides as they should of already been, tacking of that plastic outside and sanding and staining the wood and replacing the speakers to get something unique. These speakers are cheaper then the classic series celestions and i wanna know if there good or as cheap sounding as their price tags?

I have 2 g12k100 speakers mixed with 2 v30s in my Mesa cab with a dual rectifier. I really like the low end thump of these. They are stock in the Marshall Mode 4 cabs and used for 7 strings, downtuning. I think they are lower sounding than the mesa black shadow, classic lead 80 and v30. I have only compared them so? I was also interested in the g12t100. If you decide to get that one please leave a reveiw. I used to have a Marshall 800 cab and liked the lows of the g12t75 but the highs were a little shrill. I know Bogner mixes v30s and g12t75 speakers in the #1 rated cab out there? Let me know how it works out. Oh yeah I just re-wired my cab with Monster car audio cable that is 12 guage type. It only cost $10 for 8 feet and you will only use half of it and wow what a difference. I checked with many music stores,audio/ dj, car audio places and they all said Monster car audio is the shiznit and works great for guitar amps. They were right. Try it and you will see all the clarity and girth and bass youve been missing.

Thanks for you reply. Like i said im gonna start buying up old marshall cabinets for cheap and do a bit of work on em both soundwise and athestically. Im not a big fan of g12t75's either their high which celestion like to call sizzle sounds more like buzz and everyguitar ive played through them whether its humbucker or single coil equipped ive heard this annyoing high end buzz to the sound i also find them leaning to much towards a deathmetal typa vibe wheras im going for just a hard rock sound. G12K-100's sound appealing to me cause there cheap and the celestion website descripe them being huge in the low end but mainting clarity which is something that the G12T75's fall short for me ill give you all a full review once ive completed work on my first cab which will be within the next couple of weeks requiring i find a used cab in the next week.
