Celestion Seventy80 Vs. G12T-75

I've been wnating to swap out the stock 70/80 in my Blackstar HT-40 combo for something else. I've really been wanting to get a V30 to try but one of my friends just gave me a old G12T-75 out of an old Marshall cab to try out, I said that I might like it. I haven't had a chance to swap them yet, but what are the tonal differences between a 70/80 and a G12T-75?

did you check that test already?... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWK0sa7tlfI

The differences are more detailed, than you may note on the first listen.
The vid is anyway not of optimal sound quality, so I'd suggest to do anything to get it as clear as possible. Listen with hq headphones or stereo rig with neutral settings.

I can't listen to any clips right now though because something is messed up with my computer and I can't get any sound. :(

75 shoulde be a major upgrade, depending on your tonal needs.

70/80 was a bit muddy and undefined for my tastes.

The Seventy 80 is actually a pretty good speaker. I used to not like it that much at first but after it broke in, I started to appreciate the chirpy quality of the accentuated upper midrange. I have an HT100 and it's inherently kind of a dark and compressed sounding amp. I like a speaker that can open it up without being harsh.

The G12T75 is one of my favorite speakers of all. I especially love it for Marshall amps. It's got some of the chirpy upper midrange of the Seventy 80 and lots of low mids and bottom like a V30, but somewhere in the midrange is kind of scooped.

What you might want to consider is the Classic Lead 80 instead. It is a lot like the Seventy 80 but smoother, thicker, and just kind of more versatile overall. It still has an accentuated upper mid but not to the point where it can be harsh like the Seventy 80. It's a good choice because if you liked your amp before and just wanted a little better overall sound that works well on all settings of your amp (referring to how you set the ISP and voice controls), the Classic Lead 80 would do just that.

Alright thanks guys! I did the swap and I played it for just 2 or 3 minutes after I put it in, I don't really have much time to play today but hopfully sometime tonight or tommorrow. The first thing I did notice was that it had a lot more clearity on the clean channel.
