Z's amps are amazing, and take pedals well. They don't do metal, but they weren't designed to. The Carmen Ghia's interface is pretty foolproof, and many say it's impossible to get a bad sound with it.

Z's also take pedals incredibly well, so if you go to try one out take your favorite OD or dist.
