Re: Celtic Caitlin w/ Les Paul Cranked (Strange Brew)
how do ya all make this nice recordings.
our band recordings always sound like ... - ok good enough for self improvement, but as a sound fetish i wouldn't distribute it
Re: Celtic Caitlin w/ Les Paul Cranked (Strange Brew)
In my case, I'm in a quiet room with one microphone placed right up against the grille of the amp. Band recordings are exponentially more difficult to record because of all the dynamics among the different instruments. You're also dealing with an array of frequencies in a band setting, whereas with a guitar you're dealing mostly with midrange and upper-midrange frequencies.

Sounds authentic. I really want that amp. Wait till you get the Klon! That OD pedal sounds like the natural extension of any amp it's in front of. After getting mine, I felt like the OD search was over. I still need to try a King of Tone.
Thanks, Finger Ace! The LP is loaded with Seymour Duncans: a '59 in the neck, and a JB in the bridge. I used the neck pickup exclusively for both the rhythm and the lead. After hearing clips online and reading more about the Pearly Gates, I'm thinking one day I may switch out the '59 for one of those. I feel like the '59 can get a bit muddy at the low end, though I will say it handles gain remarkably well.
I got my Klon directly from the manufacturer. His name is Bill Finnegan. He's the mastermind behind the Klon Centaur, and he's a great guy to deal with on the phone. Very in tune to his customers' wants, and extremely knowledgeable. Check out his website.

That's what I'm talkin' 'bout right there. Now that sounds beautiful to my ears. Yeah, I know, it took to the second page for me to reply and I was the one who bugged you for this....LOL. Been busy.
What does "All Right Now" sound like through that thing?
