Ceramic Pegasus vs Nazgul

Anyone have experience with both? Currently have a pegasus/sentient set in a C# tuned guitar. Finding the pegasus a bit mushy. Debating whether I should get a nazgul, or try a ceramic in the pegasus.

Well I did the mag swap, and I like it! Can't compare to the nazgul, but I'm pleased with it well enough to keep it.

To my ears ceramics always sound crisper in the lows and highs with a more relaxed midrange, granted it's in the exact same pickup or pickup model.

This was my impression of the mag swap to ceramic in the Pegasus as well. I also liked it better for leads with alnico, and honestly I thought the pickup's compression felt better with alnico in general; it lost some of the character that made it cool with the mag swap. But it gained the teeth I felt like it needed in the guitar I had it in, even though it didn't stay. I have the ceramic Pegasus in a neck position spot now, with a Distortion in the bridge, and it's ok for that.

I tried an a8 in my Pegasus 7 and it was good except for a metallic thrak to the sound. So I went back to a5 but I moved the conductor cable out and used a “spacer” ceramic mag to replace the plastic spacer and it gave it some more edge. I also swapped hex poles in for the pole screws. Ultimately I like the six string Pegasus better than how the seven string version sounds.
