So its time for my MIA Lone Star Strat (swamp ash body, maple neck/fretboard) HSS-Fullshred/Tex-Specials, to go for a re-fret, and I want to utilize this opportunity to do the simplifications that are long over due.
I never really use middle single coil, so i want to take that one out.
While i love how Tex Specials in the neck might record, in the mix live, its either a bit weak in the mix or too bassy, and due to a very unfortunate fact that I am not Richie Blackmore, i cant tinker with a tone knob every second while sounding amazing ... So, I have decided to replace it with a quarter pounder, I love how punchy and middy it is while still "violinish" ...
Since my tone knobs were always set the same in current set up and i mostly adjust volume while playing, i will take it down to a universal tone control and a universal volume control.
I love my SH-10, i just wish it will have a tad bit more lower mids, that's all. So I am thinking of a certain "K" value on the knob pots, correct ?
Please share your thoughts ....
