Changing pickups with Gibson circuit board

Re: Changing pickups with Gibson circuit board

Welcome to the forum!

There are vendors on Ebay and Reverb that sell the pig tails. That's the way I would go. It is fairly quick, and you don't have to toss perfectly good working parts. Usually they have the color translation for Duncan pickups.

Re: Changing pickups with Gibson circuit board

So I've been breezing through some of these responses, I am after a cut and dry answer if anyone has one. I am not wanting to gut the whole guitar, and I am also in a bit of a time crunch. I can solder, and all. What I need is to know what wire goes where if I were to clip myself a pig tail off the stock pick up, and wire the plug into my JB. I've read some say, match all the colors and roll, and then I've read people say not to do that, but they don't provide the answer as to what goes to what. Would anyone be willing to help? Simple diagram with colors, links, etc? I really need to try and figure this out before the end of the week. Thank you in advance!

Also, if you want to order the connectors, here they are.

These are what I used when I installed the Duncan Custom and Jazz in ym '16 LP Standard. I used the chart above to translate color codes, crimped the metal connectors onto the wires of the new pickups, and slid them into the plastic connector housing. That way if I want to put the Burstbuckers back in, it'll be easy. You'll also need to go to the craft section at your local Walmart and get a pair of jeweler's crimp pliers to make crimping the connectors onto the wires easier.
