Changing triple shot configuration

Hi gang!

So I just got my triple shots, and I notice that you have to flick BOTH switches to switch between series and parallel on a humbucker. Both to outside is parallel, both to centre is series.

Since will usually only use parallel and probably not single coil, I was hoping to only have to flick one of the little switches, not both.

Is it possible to change the way it's wired so that I can leave one of the switches in the same position, and only switch one to go between series and parallel?

Otherwise, I might sell them and just use p/p pots to switch series and parallel.

Re: Changing triple shot configuration

Well, it MIGHT be possible, but I wouldn’t be able to figure it out until later tonight or tomorrow morning.

I'm thinking it might involve cutting the ribbon cable... [emoji51]

THAT would be beyond what I would feel comfortable with. I know I have a schematic for the innards of a triple shot ring at home, but I just don’t remember exactly how it was set up. It’s very possible that we may be able to fake it.

Re: Changing triple shot configuration

Have you installed them and used them yet? Using all 4 positions becomes second nature pretty quickly and the series/parallel flip feels very similar to how you use an iPad or iPhone to zoom in/out.

I would try it before assuming you have to rewire.

True, I haven't installed them. I will give it a go first.

Advice win.

Re: Changing triple shot configuration

Sorry. It isn't possible with the TS's. Each switch is just a SPDT. You need DPDT to do parallel. The p-p pot would be a better idea.

That’s exactly what I couldn’t remember about them... thanks Artie!
