Re: Charvel Model 6
I'm working on the pics... for now, here's the details...
It's an '87, Black Cherry, and 10/10 dead mint. The guy I bought it from bought it new, gigged it twice, didn't like the tremelo, so it's sat in the case for 18 years! For those who don't know the specs, it's maple/rosewood neck thru, poplar wings, Mother of Pearl inlays, bound neck & headstock, 24 jumbo frets, Jackson JT-6 trem (non-recessed), 2 Jackson J-200 stacked buckers, a Jackson J-80 or 90 bridge bucker, and a JE-1200 mid boost.
It's totally stock, and staying that way (by choice). I've got an original Floyd, Lil '59 and TB-5 sitting here, all of which were meant to go in this guitar, but arel gonna get sold instead. The trem works just as well as the OFR, and the pickups are all great. The bridge pickups sounds somewhere in between a JB & a Custom.
Rather than a Fender or Gibson style pickup selector, there is an on/off switch for each pickup, located directly under the volume/tone/mid knobs. I was really turned off by that at first, but am growing to like it. It takes a little getting used to, but it's not nearly as inconvenient as I assumed it'd be.
The only thing I intend to do is replace the strap buttons with either DiMarzio Clip-Loks, or Schallers. I'm not gonna take a chance on dropping this thing!
