Good evening Players,
I’m an old school player with several different types of guitars. Missing my old Charvel model 6 I thought I would buy a new one(knowing they aren’t the same as once upon a time) I got the style one burgundy mist/ebony fretboard, first thing I do is set them up before even plugging in knowing if there’s an electrical problem I can deal with that. The Floyd 1000 proprietary to guitar manufacturers is supposed to be equal to oft terms just made in Korea using all the same quality materials. I always take everything apart and build it the way I like. I put a little white lithium grease in the anchor stud threads and the pivots on the floyd(edge on the Ibanez) been doing that for 35 years. So all set up perfectly (action like low rider Chevy) this guitar ( have lots of Duncan equipped guitars) has the 59/JB combo. So it’s my first JB pup. Sounds fantastic and the guitar plays like the proverbial dream.
But it’s not the same as my old school model 6. I like the recessed Trem on my new one the straight off the Fender Strat neck CNC machine is where the neck comes from, sticker on back Included. It’s a really great guitar and that’s something I say often. It’s lke a super hotrodded Strat with Floyd Rose.
Anyone feel the same? Out of all my guitars I’ve gotten rid of my early 90s sl1 Jackson USA.
Since I’m here, how’s everyone’s Floyd Rose 1000s holding up?
