Cheap Solid State Little Fender?

It's a shame that they've dropped out of the amp business. I've always thought that their Power Engine 60 was a sweet concept.

Their amps were pretty heavy for their size, and used only analog ss components, so I'd guess it is hard to compete with lighter digital modeling these days.

oooh - hadn't considered that. I am looking for a classic vibe, and that is indeed classic!

It is a very different animal to play. They are designed to have no warmth. The designers unlike other ss amp designers were not trying to simulate a tube amp. For this amp, this is a good thing. They have a very fast response and really pronounce the character of the guitar or anything you plug into it. For this reason they make amazing pedal platforms. Plug a MIB into it and close your eyes and you are playing a Marshall. The reverb adds a lot of depth to the sound. The chorus is of course legendary

The bonus is it is 30 watts so you can get it over the drummer especially with a dirt box pushing it. If you plug it into a cab you can move some air.

This would so work....so now my current Amp desire list:

Marshall 2525 Head
Peavey Classic 30
Roland JC22
Blue Voodoo Head, Combo, something...

And since I usually have my Les Paul Gem w/ P90's in the bedroom, and usually Jazz/Blues on that...Whatever OD for Blues; Angry Driver (BD), TS9, SD1, or what er as the mood strikes me, roll the tone down and play!

Dammit....really don't need this

OK - this is "more" than I really want, but...

Came across a Princeton 112 to for ~$80

Two channels, Reverb, fx loop, 12" speaker. Only issue is 65 watts, so a bit more oomph than I want or need...but checks all the other boxes.

Since my work bonus came in I have got:

EHX Canyon delay
Radial Hollywood Bones
Grover Milk Bottle Tuners

And gun stuff....

My amp priority is get rid of my Pro Jr. and get a Peavey Classic 30...which that doesn't help

But yeah...I may be back there and give that a play, just to keep something Fender in the stable.

C30 is an awesome little amp

The older version doesn't have a standby switch

Change the Blue Marvel for a real speaker
CRex
I really think you should use a CRex

Edit

At 30 watts the C30 could sit in the bedroom

I'd just get a modeling amp for the bedroom

Joyo or something

That stage right I mentioned a while back
With the 15/1 watt switch on front
And a 12 inch Celestian

So, I will check out the Princeton this weekend if still around...

But I think I may have found the ideal Fender SS - the Champion 30! two channels, B/M/T shared, Reverb 10" Speaker.Less than $100...

Keep in mind that the Princeton sounds about 10x better than the Champion.

I really want a Marshall 1936V, personally. I mean, ideally, I'd want a 1960V, but living in an apartment, probably not such a good idea. I've already got a 1960 with Greenbacks, but I kinda want some Vintage 30 love to compliment it.

Sorry, I posted this in the wrong thread, LOL. I meant to post it in the Amp Gas thread.

I played a Champion 100 and found it lacking in every way. I am not one to crap on any piece of equipment, everything works for somebody. However, knowing you I would suggest you steer clear. I really think in the smaller SS class you should focus on Marshall, Peavey, or BOSS. If you can find a Fender Red Knob or a Randell grab it.

I lent my daughter a spare Digitech RP-12, a BBE Stomp Sonic pedal and Boss GE-7 Band Eq with her cheap Squier S 10 amp .... sound great .
