Cheapest axe out there with a floating trem

Re: Cheapest axe out there with a floating trem

I still say Peveay Predator Plus EXP. Have you even looked at it? It has body binding, jumbo frets, VERY good trem.

Re: Cheapest axe out there with a floating trem

Yeah, I am considering the Predator also.

I'm not sure if I can get Charvels over here, but I'll look around

Re: Cheapest axe out there with a floating trem

save up a little more and get a schecter c-1 FR. there ****ing awesome guitars for the money. OFR, ducan design's, and a neck profile VERY simmilar to your h-400(fits me perfectly) all for around 600 US$

Re: Cheapest axe out there with a floating trem

In my guitar center mag there is an ibanez that claims to be the cheapest floating trem guitar on the market. I think it has an Edge Pro 2 which isnt good, but better than most floyd copys. Beware of many angry guitar sessions because of your guitar that wont stay in tune.

i never asked...what's your budget for this?

Re: Cheapest axe out there with a floating trem

300 bucks will get you a model series Charvel or an early Professional Jackson off eBay easily ;)

Re: Cheapest axe out there with a floating trem

I could have won an ebay auction for a Pro series Jackson that was right around $200 and supposed to be in great shape. I didnt bid cuz I had to discipline myself as Im still waiting on a DK2 that I just bought. ($279) I have too many guitars..

If you do get the PV, pls let me know what you think of it! I been looking at those along time

Re: Cheapest axe out there with a floating trem

You can get some pretty decent Jackson guitars cheapish.. I'm talkin between £150 and £300. If i were you I wouldn't just go out and buy any old floyd guitar.. if you get it wrong chances are you'll never been in tune again. I'd save up the cash and buy something half decent

Re: Cheapest axe out there with a floating trem

My original plan was just to by the cheapest thing I could find so that I could make some noises until I had enough for something nice.

On second thoughts however, don't think it's worth it, so I might find something I really like. I'm not going to get anything expensive though.

The Predator is a decent axe and it stays in tune well am I correct?

Re: Cheapest axe out there with a floating trem

Yeah, and they're around $200 US dollars... you can't really ask for more than the Predator gives you for that kinda money. Its a great learners guitar I've heard, fast neck and stays in tune unless you go Steve Vai on the whammy bar..

Re: Cheapest axe out there with a floating trem

I'll second one of the newer Kramer Strikers....I own one and it's even gig-worthy...never given me one problem outside of a stripped screw on the floyd after a full year of gigging(10 cents to replace).

They also take great to any pickups you want to put in there.

Don't have many complaints about that guitar at all.
