That's a pretty cool setup. What does the volume pedal in the FX loop do?

Re: Check out my gear setup!!! (pics)

Just updated the picture.... and added the DR...

I prefer to use it as a master volume, instead of in front of amp, like a guitar volume. More control....

Re: Check out my gear setup!!! (pics)

I see. does this allow you to push the amp harder at reasonable volume levels?

No. It acts like a master volume only. You're talking about an attenuator.

Re: Check out my gear setup!!! (pics)

nice, by the way... why are attenuators so pricey like $300 or more its rediculous, theres no way it has $300 worth of parts in it

Re: Check out my gear setup!!! (pics)

Attenuators are very desirable units when you need power amp OD, that's why they are pricier. But just check out a Klon Centaur, Fulltone dist/od products... they almost have nothing inside, and are way too pricey!

WeberVST makes a nice attenuator, the MASS, which is a different design 'cause it uses a real speaker motor to absorb/dissipate energy. And they are priced around 125-150. It's one of the best unit at the moment.

How is that Laney GH50L? I'm thinking of getting one because I want that Paul Gilbert tone. Does it have lots of gain for solo work?

Re: Check out my gear setup!!! (pics)

Nice Sacha, I didn't think you had so much stuff onboard... Can't wait to hear it live!

Yes, it has some very nice high-gain capaibilities, definitely. I had to put a low-noise 7025 Mullard in V1 (less gainier too) to calm things down.

Nice drawing... I used to go to Guitar Geek all the time. I would like to create drawings like that. I e-mailed them awhile back and they told me that they use Adobe Illustrator to create those drawings. Is that what you're using?

Re: Check out my gear setup!!! (pics)

No. I used PaintShopPro to build that. Did some cut/paste and final adjustment.

Re: Check out my gear setup!!! (pics)

that's pretty cool!!!!

they should put up a free program for everyone to be able to do that....like a kisekae for amps & effects!!!
