I was looking for an acoustic that I will always be satisfied with for $700 or less. You can actually get some killer guitars in that price range. I narrowed it mostly to Larrivee D03, 0m03, or higher used models. Also, Tacoma was another choice high on the list. I found Taylors to be too expensive and I have nothing against Martins, but I wanted something that wasn't so common. I could have got a D15 I guess within my price limits. I had the opportunity to play some Tacomas locally and was impressed with playability and tone. They seemed very consistent and none of the models I tried dissapointed me. So I snagged this one. I paid a tad high, but it has a fishman installed, so that can make up for some of it. Also, being from 2001, this guitar will have "opened up" nicely by now. I do like to play things before I buy, but I am quite confident with this one...I hope. Looks like a really nice guitar. You may want to pop over to Seymour's sister forum, (D-Tar), and tell them also. They could use a little activity these days.

I was in Seattle at various GC's shopping for acoustics several months back. I was in teh same situation. I tried a bunch of Tacomas, but none of them lit me up like the Martin D-15. I like a melower tone and the D-15 definitely qualifies.

If I read something correctly, I believe Fender has not bought Tacoma.

Yeah, I actually used the search function and entered Tacoma. I saw your thread pop up. I also read that Fender bought Tacoma, they seem to be buying lots of companies out lately.
