Check Out The New Tone Chart

Re: Check Out The New Tone Chart

Saw it this afternoon, much nicer (and causes less problems than teh pesky .pdfs sometimes do) :beerchug:

Re: Check Out The New Tone Chart

Looks great. I agree about the pdfs. My computer never likes them for some reason. This way, it speeds along beautifully.

Re: Check Out The New Tone Chart

Much nicer, Evan. I like it better than the pdf. The top menu hovers just need to be fixed. ;)

I actually like the way they don´t come down as far into the chart, but for continuity with the rest of the site I´d agree ;)

Re: Check Out The New Tone Chart

I like.
Would it be possible to get the old output measurement on a scale of 1 to 10 for instance, or as a bar diagram? Set the amp on clean and neutral and see how much each pup distorts the amp and how loud it is maybe..? I don't know, maybe there's no way. But I like this one much better.

Hotrails Tele as moderate output..?

It is definitely an improvement. I did prefer the graphic bass/middle/treble of the old tone chart as opposed to the numbers, but this is better than the pdf one.

Re: Check Out The New Tone Chart

or a MILLIVOLT scale..... maybe a subcontra b, pu 1/16" from the strings, picked with a 5mm pick.... blow all of Dimarzios numbers right off the planet ..

"I want more output than the 350mv of blabla"
"Well, any Duncan has more than that, even the SSL-1, so just choose based on EQ" :laugh2:

Re: Check Out The New Tone Chart

How are they going to be sorted in the list? By model number? Name? Output? My vote would be for model number. (SH-1, SHPG-1, SH-4, SH-5, etc.)

As far as the EQ goes, I prefer the numbers. Can't stand looking at charts unless each bar is labelled with what it is. Charts look pretty but numbers tell what it is.

I'm with Zerb on the millivolt scale. That would be great to have.

The APS-1 Alnico II Staggered (single) is showing me the APH-1 Alnico II Pro (humbucker)

Re: Check Out The New Tone Chart

Why does the "Compare Tone" link always bring me back to the same page?

BTW...great improvement, much easier to read now.

Re: Check Out The New Tone Chart

Soulman: After you select one pickup clicking in compare tone, you can add another pickup by clicking on "Pick Another..." or "Add Tone", then clicking on "Add Tone to Comparison" next to the pup you want to see.
