Chimp-o board

Prayin' to Cheeses
I've been a pedalslave for a long time and I am thinking about getting back to basics. Wah. Tuner. One dirt box, nothing else.

The thing is, I really love having a *board* because it is so convenient for setup, reliability, etc. A small board would be cool but most probably couldn't fit my wah pedal. Which I like to have on the board for ease of use etc.

Does anyone else have a small, super simple yet integrated pedal board that gets the job done for them? I have used Pedaltrain products and I really like them but their dimensions aren't ideal for the configuration I am imagining.

Re: Chimp-o board

Can you build? You can build a flat Pedaltrain style board to your dimensional needs pretty easily. Also, I've been liking the Temple Audio board lately too...

Re: Chimp-o board

I'd look at a Temple Audio Solo and get a mini wah. Those boards are 8.5" wide and 18 inches long although you can specify a different length and they'll cut it down for you. I know you're going for a smaller board but room to expand a little bit is always useful. I have a TA board for my Helix and it looks awesome and works well for my needs. Plus I have room to add another expression pedal if/when I want to.

I have a mini wah on another board. It's OK, but it's a little hard to use and for this one, I want to get a full size wah. I will check out the temple audio for sure, thanks for the suggestion.

Their Duo boards are more sized for full sized wah pedals and I use a Duo 34. I think the smallest for the Duo series is a 17 inch board and that may be bigger than you want.

I'm using this exclusively at the moment, the big board doesn't get a look in. The mini Crybaby is awesome...

Re: Chimp-o board

I use a small Gator pedalboard when I am not using my Pedaltrain. And this one has flames! I got it used for $10.

Re: Chimp-o board

My first pedalboard was a home-built affair made from an oak plywood shelf board. I was only using three, then five, pedals and what I found that worked best was to set it up side-saddle to my mic stand. Worked great on small stages. Kept the wah next to the stand with the OD and chorus in the first row, and the lesser used pedals, power supply and surge protector in the back.

For a small board with only a few pedals, you can easily build your own.
